PJ was Race Officer again today and set a triangular course towards the dam, two laps. This may have been a little bold but it seemed to work. The wind was light and occasional shifts and gusts. The start as always was critical and it was in the lap of the gods if you were in the right place at the right time.

Just 3 intrepid sailors to day, greeted by a NW breeze. Dave H set a triangular course after the initial figure of 8 course proved a little unpopular! The wind proved to be a little tricky as it was swirling around the end of the pontoon. It made for some interesting moments as we tried to negotiate our way around the windward mark (near left hand ) then a bit of a rush to the next mark (far left) finally on the run to the near right. It was pot luck as to what wind you had for that leg. 2 laps of that and back intime for the start of the next race. I think DH wanted to get home early or was being paid by the race officer? After 16 rounds of slugging it out Dave H with his Wee nip just won the must rounds. Chris S and his Dragonflite 95 starting 60 seconds behind had some very close and I mean close races, less than a boat length on a few occasions, well done Chris. As for poor John L he was plagued by trim and then radio issues. After getting the trim sorted his Wee nip would not communicate once it got 50m away unless he asked it nicely. John and his boat finally going home after round 12 to reconcile their differences, hope they can patch things up for the next Wee nip day. Chris went home with a smile on his face, John not so and Dave pleased that Chris had had a good day.

PJ was Race Officer and set a triangular course towards the dam and was two laps. Chris S was loaned a Wee Nip, but he brought with him the mode 1 bug, which was mostly left a long time ago. So he was at a disadvantage, but coped reasonably well, however greater use of the controls meant that he ran out of battery on the last race. He was in a contemplating mode as we took a brain break earlier that day. Mary and Paul were having an exciting days sailing. The wind was very gusty and strong with the need to shed power quickly to maintain heading.

PJ acted as Race Officer and set a two lap triangular course away from the Dam. The wind was fairly stiff and cold from the North. CS joined us today with his DF95 and started 40 seconds behind the fleet. Mary M was doing reasonably well until she tried to sail not her own boat.

PJ set a triangular course starting from the dam going north, and incorporating a spreader to port of the windward buoy. The wind was light and variable again consistent with the high pressure over the UK at this time. Congratulations to Dave and Paul for first and second in tricky conditions.

PJ acted as Race Officer of the day, and he set a triangular course heading out northwest and an inner buoy towards the bank and a leeward buoy near the pump house. all was well until Ian 's boat went off by itself towards the barbed wire fence, and there it stayed defeating all attempts to dislodge it until we used the rowing boat skippered by John L.

John L was the Race Officer of the day and he laid a temporary start buoy and proceeded to set a triangular course towards the jetty and going out to a middle buoy and then rounding a leeward buoy, initially two laps, but latterly one lap due to light wind conditions and some weed.

PJ was the Race Officer of the day and he set a two triangular course start and finishing in front of the club house. We had various gremlins today with members boats, which PJ tried to solve. This put us back a little hence only ten races. PJ had his own problems with a rudder not fully bonded to the rudder shaft. However he still won the day.

Peter S. was todays Race Officer, he set a course starting from the jetty towards the far marker to port back to the slipway marker, back to the far bouy and then a gate even nearer to the jetty and across the finishing line. The wind picked up during the session. We had a long break to look at Russ H's boat which Peter S advised upon.

The Race Officer of the day was Dave H and he set a triangular course twice round in very light conditions, which was exasipated by weed, which we thought was the remnants of last years crop. It was plesant in the warm sunshine, and the resul was a close thing between the first three.
