The Wee Nip Competition Series has moved to Two Islands RYC for the first of three summer rounds all at this venue.
With the wind blowing in from the westerly Island we sailed from Pauls spit to try to make the most of the conditions.
The weather forecast was it's usual optimistic self with great winds forcast on a warm and sunny day. The warm and sunny almost materialised although those who had determined shorts were in order were sent scurrying back to their cars to find something warm to put on. As for the strong winds they were present except for when it went all light and flukey just to keep us on our toes. |

The usual suspects were at the front with once again John Simmons (71 Dimple) mastering the conditions, setting up his boat, and doing what the rest of us weren't and taking the win.
Keith Coxon (55, Glen Keith) was magnaminous in defeat and unusually for this competition recieved a second place prize (it wasn't tinned haggis). when selecting the prizes Mike E wart must have had in mind winning one to go with his Sunday lunch.
Alan Smedley (77, Glengoyne) snuck in for a well desrved third place taking this from Mike E wart (36, Ardbeg) on count back by virtue of his two race wins.

These were followed home by the two Abington Park Peters, Shepherd (65 Sheep Dip) and Jackson (30 Red Rooster) neither of whom had an entirely successful day, both going home scratching their heads wondering what they have to do to get to the front, as I suspect were a number of other skippers.
Colin Davies, (42, Blackadder) followed these two home and the ever improving sailing performances from Tim Leese (93, Arran) meant he managed to finish off the bottom, the dubious honour of which went to Richard Doleman (48, Drambuie). John Simmons nips in front of Keith Coxon in the 2015 Medal Competition and it is hard to see anyone getting in amongst these two although there is still time for someone to put in a late challenge. |

Thanks must go to Peter Wood who came and did the starting and scoring duties for us with such aplomb he might have found his calling in life. The next Wee Nip series is once again at Two Islands on the 18th July 2015.
